Fremantle’s Mojos bar is set to open this Friday with an amazing lineup of local artists.

The set list includes Seychelles native Grace Barbé,an icon for the Afro- Kreol alternative seggae scene in Perth.

Second on the list is BEXX, an electronic dance music artist who is “passionate about women forging a path in the electronic/production industry”, says triple J.

One indie-pop pick for the night is Joan and the Giants, a four piece band who are here to deliver soulful harmonies lanened with raw emotion.

The Green Pools performance aims to tickle the alternative folk itch you've been watching to scratch all year.

Following Andew Ryan's departure last month, Mojos has been closed for six weeks.

As the anticipated reopening approaches, Amber Jean Hatton has been appointed as the new Programming Director of Mojos bar Fremantle.

Hatton says she will be responsible for “all programming, booking and promotion of live music”.

She says “we’re committed to creating a safe and inclusive culture that brings music lovers together.”

In an exclusive interview with The Project, Australian artist Deena Lynch talks about her experience with sexual assault in the Australian music industry.

She recalled an early incident where she told one of the alleged offenders about the other making her uncomfortable and he said, “that’s what he is like. That's normal behaviour when he is intoxicated, don’t worry about it”.

In the interview she says the intimate nature of the Australian music scene makes it difficult for people to defend themselves if the perpetrator is someone with the power to end their career.

“They can make one call and destroy your entire career.”
