The first episode of Series 1 takes you back to before 2001, when the world rally championship was born in the early 70s, breaking down the key cars that made a splash in the rallying scene, the madness of group b to the rise in appeal in group a to the subsequent world rally car era that rose the sport to new and crazy heights.
We head back to the stages to break down the Argentina, Cyprus, Greece and Safari Rallies with current WRC commentator Jon Desborough and have a few laughs along the way on how Jon got started in the sport, his first meeting with Colin McRae and a few funny tales on his trips to Australia.
Peugeot were the team to beat heading into 2001 but it was not an easy ride to the top even with a driver lineup of 2 word champions and one on the rise up the WRC ranks, but another steered them back in the midst of the tightest season in the history of the sport.
